The Stabler Stance

Knees slightly bent, back arched, head slightly tilted and no more than 1 foot away from the perp. Notice the slight arm muscle flex to enhance intimidation. This man means business and nobody has any business replacing him.

Then/Now

The guy went from this:

To this:

I mean, look at that stare. His replacement is going to have big shoes to fill. It isn't easy to make people fear you and want to hug you all with one glance.

Why he can't be replaced...

A few reasons (there are hundreds) why Stabler can’t be replaced:

1. There are few balding men as attractive as him.

2. The sexual tension between him and Benson is unmatched and took years to build.

3. Tutuola’s anger issues aren’t enough to fill the void.

4. Skepticism turned understanding is only endearing with him. “Oh, (insert new guy’s name)” just won’t be the same.

5. He is the protector. He makes everyone feel safe and even when he’s vulnerable, you know he’ll come out on top.

If he is replaced, he’s going to have to get killed. If they have him leave to go spend time with his family, that is complete bullshit. His kids already have daddy issues and his estranged wife has probably had enough. So if he’s going to leave, it’s going to have to be a rip-your-heart-out moment that leaves fans in mourning for years. It may sound morbid, but the good and the great must go out with a bang.

The beginning....

My love for Law and Order: SVU began long ago, but my inspiration for this blog started from this article:

Which then inspired this conversation:

Seriously feeling like an abandoned child right now. I have spent many a sick day and Thanksgiving 12-hour marathon with this man just a few feet away and once Netflix Instant Watch was brought to my attention, I made sure to watch every episode of every season. You may call it obsession, I call it loyal devotion. It's going to be hard to say goodbye to this man, so I find it much easier to complain about it.
